I know what you're thinking....WHAT? Elevator fight? Is she o.k.? The answer is yes, actually better than ever! Zoe Kravitz, the daughter of mega rockstar Lenny Kravitz, has ventured out into the world of music with her new band called Elevator Fight. I was skeptical at first, but after one listen I was hooked! Zoe has a great voice, the band rocks, and she lights up the stage like a shining star. Of course she is also one of my favorite future hippies! ♥
Not only is the 20 year old following in rocker dad's footsteps, she is taking to the big screen as well, much like her famous mom Lisa Bonet. Zoe is set to star in the upcoming movie "Twelve" alongside fellow cast-mates Chance Crawford (gossip girls), Emma Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, Ellen Barkin, among many others. The story is about a young high school drop out who deals drugs to Manhattan's young and elite. The flick releases in 2010, I'll definitely be checking it out!
Here's a few pics of Zoe with Elevator Fight, on the Twelve set, and a video of her and her new band. Enjoy!
One of my all time favorite models is Sasha Pivovarova, she just radiates confidence and beauty! I love the Moroccan theme of her photo shoot in the May 2009 Vogue Italia, especially since Morocco was such a "rich hippie" destination in the late 60's. It attracted rockstars and models like Jimi Hendrix and Talitha Getty.
I've posted about Sasha before which you can check out here, and also a really fabulous shoot with her and Dhani Harrison here.
And now the gorgeous pics from the Vogue shoot.... Love All Around, Cara Mia
I'm always on the lookout for fun pics to add to my inspiration folder and stuff to share on Hippie Couture. I came across this site called Rato Records Blog that is just packed with info and pictures of 1960's and 70's records, as well as some fabulous pics from that time period. He has a whole section dedicated to wallpapers that are free to download.
I don't know how long I spent sifting through all of the amazing pics on his site, but it was almost the same feeling of thumbing through the actual vinyl in a store! Below are a few of my favorites. Just click on the wallpaper, right click and save to your desktop.

So You Think You Can Dance! This is absolutely one of my favorite shows since I love to dance! Last night 2 of the top 10 dance finalists Brandon and Melissa, revived the hippie spirit and performed to "Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine In" from the hit musical "Hair". The routine was choreographed by Tyce Diorio and the couple pulled it off flawlessly! All of the contestants are superb dancers but this routine was just magical!
Anyone else addicted to this show? Who are your favorites? :)
Here's a video of their performance. If you subscribe by email and can't see the video click here. Love All Around, Cara Mia
If you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you will probably surmise that I LOVE hippie culture and fashion! I enjoy posting about original hippies from the 1960's and 70's but also about the next generation of people who are taking cues from the past and turning it into their own style.
I came across this photographer who manages to capture that futuristic hippie vibe in a way that is truly unique! His name is Paco Peregrin and he is fierce! Check out some of these awesome pics from various shoots.
Now, on to the awards! I recently received 2 different awards from a couple of super hip bloggers and it's my turn to spread the love! First is the "One Lovely Blog Award" from Leanne of A Life Filled With Color. Thanks Leanne!
And the second is the "my way" award from Carlotta of My Way. Thanks Carlotta! Here's where it just gets silly! I would now like to pass on the "Your Blog Is Fierce" award to a few fabulous bloggers. It would be great if the winners would post this award on your blog, link back to Hippie Couture, and then spread the love to more fellow bloggers, but you are not under any obligation whatsoever! I believe if you receive a gift, it is yours to do as you please. Post it, toss it, or feed it to the neighbors dog.....it is now yours so have fun! If you do post it on your blog and link back, just copy one of the pics below.
On a side note, I just want to say thank you to not just these blogger friends, but to everyone who comments, subscribes or just drops by Hippie Couture to say hello. I enjoy writing and sharing cool stuff with everyone and I'm super grateful for the positive feedback......I'm feelin' the love! (((((BIG HUGS TO EVERYONE!))))) Love All Around, Cara Mia Here's the list you fierce bloggers!
