HIPPIE COUTURE goes Vintage Book Shopping

geena davisIf you love books, whether old or new, and are looking for a Madonna before she was famous! Quite a find for fifty cents!

madonna before she was famousNext up, and possibly my favorite, is “This Fabulous Century 1960 – 1970” by Time Life Books. This book is out of print but can be found on sites like Awesome pictures of hippies, celebrities and vintage clothing, as well as commentary on some of the most influential people of that time.

“Valley of the Dolls” was among the array of books scooped up and I just happened to score the first edition! This best selling novel was turned into a film in 1967….I highly recommend it. Movie stars, sex and drugs, with a healthy dose of drama! I can’t wait to read the book!

Last but not least is “New York in the Forties” by Andreas Feininger. I *heart* New York City and this book has the most amazing pictures! If you’re feeling nostalgic or just want to see what the city looked like back then, this book does not disappoint!

The library is a treasure trove of good books to buy. My local library is having a big sale this month. Oh, I do love the picture of Jimi. Made my heart beat fast looking at him.

I love to buy old books and magazines too, those are awesome treasures of fashion and life!
